Naruto Shippuuden Movie 2, “Bonds”

I’m bored and waiting to hear back from my boss on a project I’m working on so I decided I would review the latest Naruto movie, “Bonds”.
- There was no Maito Gai … disappointed Mongrel is disappointed. And no Lee or Tenten.
But of course it had that bishi Neji. :X - I liked the Amaru character and would have liked the movie to revolve around her more and less around Naruto and Sasuke. It originally looked like the move would follow Amaru and Naruto and that would be more the “Bond” of which the movie was titled after. But instead, just as we started to like Amaru’s character, she’s kind of pushed aside and then pushed back into our faces again.
- Honestly, I felt like the whole movie jumped around way too much. First Amaru is a boy, then she’s a girl (I think they messed up the subbing eariler in the movie by referring to her as a “she” before we knew she was). And then her sensei gets killed just as we think he’s going to be more involved in the story. Then Amaru is pocessed by the “No-Tails”, making us wonder if she is a Jinchūriki — I still don’t know if she was one, or not. Then it has Sasuke being useless. It showcases Shikamaru’s intellect again — and Sai’s flying capabilities. But Kakashi, who was with his team, literally never lifted a finger through the whole freaking movie.
- I have come to the realization that Konoha is made out of paper mache. How else could that village get destroyed and rebuilt so fast and easily?
- But the best part of the movie was when Naruto helped Amaru back into the boat, notices her wet form and then finally figures out she is actually a girl … I lol’d.

- So in the end, I think I prefer the first Shippuuden movie over this one. Mainly because it followed a well structured plot and timeline.
- Though ninjas on gliders was pretty awesome.

omg.. that was the whole reason why i wanted to see it… i wanted a little copycat action… that sucks
Well, he’s there … and he’s got a nice equipment belt. But he just doesn’t do anything. :hmm:
equipment belt… yum
The movie was Ok… no super just OK… I was hoping for a little more of animation I mean something different… I have the feeling watching another X chapter of Naruto Shippuuden anime
Haa another thing my brother want me to say this… the fight between Naruto VS Amaru’s Sensei Is like seeing Naruto Vs Vegeta … the design of character look like him… O.o (hides)
In my opinion the movie was quite clicheé..
The movie had no new things, and that last fight was too predictable..
And indeed; no gai and no kakashi in action TT_TT..
I don’t really reccomend it, it was “fun” but nothing big.
Clicheé is a good word to describe it and also very predictable. I knew what would happen long before it was revealed. :X
I don’t know if I’m the only one but, the part before the sora-nin attack really looks like Pearl Harbor movie :S
One moment they were in Konoha (That kind of look more european for my taste… the buildings and the bridge…) then they are in a jungle like river… a “Maya” like city… The fire country is really diverse.
Kakashi didn’t do a thing, but at least Sai fight a little. The four tails looks better here than in the anime but the transformation was to quick and I thought that the chakra should have hurt Naruto, he was like new xD
But, Sasuke fangirls must be glad… saddly I’m not one.
I just watched the movie, i know a little late, but I agree with everything said here, it was a good movie, but to predictable and bounced all over the place with no firm ground. I think that it should have revolved around Amaru and Naruto more.
The Part that bothers me the most though is at the end when Amaru jumps out the boat to Naruto and tells him that she’ll never leave him……… well WTF?!?! it’s a movie so she obviously isn’t in the shippuuden series. That just really bugged me because I think Naruto needs a girlfriend, but Hinata is too much of a pansy to say anything.
I just think Amaru and Naruto were good for eachother in this movie, so wtf happened?
The whole movie thing looked boring to me, the real fun part is where naruto finds amaru is a girl
Too much nowhere action.. bombing on konoha ? how many times will they have to rebuild it ? Oo
Naruto punching the vegeta-like reborning man to the death ? Huh.. what the hell… Oo
The zero-tail in amaru then the sensei controlling it ? -> what the…. Oo
Sai’s fight was fun and good but Shino’s bug destroying the whole thing on him alone ??? Oo what the hell again !
Amaru’s sensei teached Orochimaru reborn jutsu, i hoped to learn more about that part.. there was no backflash (history and lore) like in the anime… SAD Oo
As for naruto again.. nowhere’s transformation too fast and meaningless (and yes, he’s like new after the fourth tail.. what the hell ???)
Well after all, Amaru’s part was the funniest and the most interesting, why did they sacrificed the lore, intrigue and character interraction for more action ?
As it was said earlier, the first shippuden movie was far better for it’s whole.
5/10 fine movie, but i still prefer the Akatsuki animes !
