Deleted Deviations

So, apparently someone decided to report a bunch of my work to the admin staff.

My picture, “Shadow’s Embrace” — the piece with Temari, was deleted for “underaged erotica”, even though her character is 19 years old. Not to mention, this piece was even complimented on by a DA staffer a year ago as being a good piece of artwork. In addition, she didn’t even look underaged, so it wasn’t like I modified her appearance to look younger than what she actually is.

My commission with Kakashi and Sakura kissing was also deleted for “underaged erotica” — which, apparently I need to relearn the meaning of the word “erotica”.
A popular artist here on DA has made a name for herself with drawing pictures of Sasuke and Sakura fondling each other and sucking on tongues. But her gallery remains untouched. 

It’s funny how a photo of a DA’er who was 16 and posing in a sexual manner while wearing revealing lingerie was deemed not underaged erotica by a staff after I reported it. 

Needless to say, I am not amused that two of my most well-received and liked deviations were deleted for policy violations they were not even guilty of.

  Totally lame. Those are two of my favorite pieces of yours. I think they ware very very tastefully done and dA is just ridiculous.

  From what I have heard from my sources in the dA staff. There have been a lot of complaints about the removal of these two pieces. Thought I should let you know Mongrel that your fans are fighting back

  I follow an another great artist on Deviant Art and She have the same trouble, exactly the same!

  Now, she’s open an another blog on another web site. So, I think DA will loose some artist because of their behaviour.

  I think I know who you’re referring to with the Sasuke and Sakura thing. If it’s the same person, she’s been banned from DA permanently, but I’ve seen her artwork posted on e-hentai.org and Hentai Foundry. But it sucks that your artwork was deleted. I think DA should make a sister website for people who want to post mature content only so that the artists who draw these kinds of pictures can have a proper venue where others can appreciate them. I mean, nudity, in some shape or form, can be considered as art, right?

  Don’t take this a personal attack or that I’m bashing you.

  It’s their expressions. Just because there aren’t exposed genitalia doesn’t mean it’s acceptable. Erotica art is not aloud on DeviantART anyway, so I’m not sure why you’re so surprised the Temari picture was deleted. In the image she’s obviously sexually excited because being fondled and even if she is of age in the image that doesn’t mean it should be aloud on DA.

  As for the KakaSaku picture, I also see how that is erotica. Sakura’s expression leads me to believe that she was being touched or stimulated some other way because when people normally share “innocent” kisses, they don’t look like they’re in ecstasy. Kakashi’s hand is also on her leg – assuming he’s caressing up her thigh, which is also known as fondling and inappropriate for these certain characters. Most people only view Sakura as 12-16 years of age because of the manga and would find it underage-erotica. People are really touchy about child porn/rape so that’s mostly likely why that image was deleted. Simply saying she’s 18 doesn’t make it right when you still draw her with the clothing she wears when she’s only 16.

  I guess what I’m trying to say is that it all comes down to presentation. If the character looks like they’re being touched, fondled, or is sexually excited then yes, that is erotica. I know some people get away with it, but that doesn’t mean it’s okay to post it anyway.

    Apparently, neither is proper English… -.-

    I don’t see anything wrong with these pictures myself. I thought that was why DA had a mature content lock on certain photos.

  I can see how the temari piece was deleted, but I don’t think it should have been. it’s beautiful, and pretty tasteful in my opinion.

  there is an inside job here. Someone here is reading between the lines because they feel it’s violated in someway. So despite the fact it’s not, someone knows a stickler on rules for this and influenced them. Regardless of the fact that you had a DA staffer compliment you, it is someone higher than them. You MUST find them and rat them out like THEY ratted you out. It is only fair in this nation built on hypocrisy.

  Any chance of seeing the original cover to the cake doujin? At least I think it was the cover…Hani’s booty featured heavily, I remember that much!
