For those who follow me on my Tumblr ([link]) and my originals account (*lkrecic), they know I’ve been practicing at painting realism. Thought I’d try my hand at doing a little fanart for one of my favorite characters.

When drawing fanart, I like to listen to music that would probably be something the character would enjoy. I listened to a lot of Evanescence and Linkin Park. Those two bands seem to be synonymous with Toph in my head for some reason.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. 

Time: ~ 10 hours

For the past year, I’ve been playing with the idea of doing my own original comic book. I’ve only really told a few friends about it, many because I didn’t want to create any hype about it. I don’t have a great deal of free time as it is and I don’t want to get people excited about a project that may never come to fruition.

The comic will be called “Band Geeks” (logo is still a work in progress) and will revolve around high schoolers and school’s band.

I spent this past weekend taking a break from commissions to draw a bunch of concept sketches for the main character of the comic. Her name is “June Jacobson”. I drew her with a bunch of different faces and hair, but this look was my favorite when it was all said and done.

I don’t want to share any attributes about her or her personality. I don’t want to say she is any one “thing” and struggle to prove that throughout the comic. I want the readers to find all that out on their own.

Again, this comic may never see page one, but it’s something I’m playing with and would love to get around to doing eventually.

Another Naruto commission.

I  Yogscast.

They are a group (mostly two British players named Lewis and Simon) who record and play computer games. I first started watching their videos for World of Warcraft where they covered various raid bosses and explained strategies. Now I watch their “Minecraft” videos. These two avatars are the characters they play in this game.

Their videos are hilarious. I usually watch them at the end of the day to reward me for a hard day’s work. If you haven’t checked them out and want a good chuckle, then pop by their channel and give them a view.
